He held the position of the World President, IFPMM - International Federation of Purchasing & Materials Management, Austria (an international body of 40 countries accredited to the UN and its specialized agencies like UNCTAD, International Trade Centre, Geneva, & UN Economic & Social Council).

A UN trained expert in training and development, Mr. Sharma has conducted more than 1500 executive development programmes and addressed several conferences - both national and international during last 30 years. He has been a visiting faculty at IIM, Ahmedabad & Indore, NITIE, ASCI, IIT, Mumbai, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, etc.

He has 35 years' experience in the corporate world - as Vice President, Blue Star Limited., Director, Mather & Platt Ltd., Chief Operating Officer, TechNova Imaging Systems Limited, and President, PidiliteIndustries Limited, Mumbai.

He has been the President of the prestigious Bombay Management Association & National President, Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM). He co-authored a book on Supply Chain Management published by Tata McGraw Hill.
