The objective of this One Day programme is to acquaint the participants with sequence of Documents covering Foreign Trade Policy, Customs, FEMA and related Laws with specific reference to GST.

Special Feature: The subject will be discussed based on newly announced Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20. Latest amendments carried out by CBEC pertaining to Import Documentation with specific reference to GST will be explained.

Rationale: All Importers be it traders or manufacturers have to now focus on reducing “Landed cost of Imports”, to be profitable in their business endeavour. This is because of local market becoming competitive day by day and economics low down overseas.
Lack of knowledge and awareness on Import Documentation and Procedural very often results in delays in clearance of Import Shipment causing demurrages and container detention charges. To be effective in handling imports, the objective of each document and procedure compliances have to be understood and complied with.
Introduction of GST w.e.f. 1st July, 2017 has brought vide ranging changes in Import Documentation & Procedure vis – a- vis Customs.

  1. Introduction to Foreign Trade Policy w.r.t. Import of Capital Goods and Raw Materials.
  2. Documentation for Import Authorisations comprising EPCG, Advance Authorisation, DFIA, Restricted Items (w.r.t. GST).
  3. Custom Concepts related to Imports, Import Documents and Customs (w.r.t. GST).
  4. Structure of Customs Tariff- Classification – Do’s and Don’ts.
  5. Classification – Assessment – Valuation of Import Goods.
  1. Documentation and Procedure related to Imports under Free Trade Agreement and Preferential Trade Agreement.
  2. Banking Compliances vis-a-vis Imports.
  3. Imports & GST.
  4. Miscellaneous provisions.

The objective of this One Day Workshop is to acquaint the participants with the intricacies involved in Export Documentation and Procedure and thereby reduce the Transaction Cost with specific reference to GST.
